Our Story
Cameron Koch, a 16-year-old teenager, lived in the scenic town of Palos Verdes, California. He was a well-known figure in his high school, PVHS, where he was equally loved for his outstanding performance in both soccer and volleyball. However, as much as he loved his sports, there was one thing in his life he loved even more: his dog, a labador Retriever named Trooper.
One day, after a particularly exciting soccer practice, Cameron came home to find Trooper lethargically gnawing on a dog bone. The sight of Trooper, usually so playful and full of energy, looking utterly bored with his bone, made Cameron pause. Trooper loved bones, but as Cameron looked closer, he realized something. It was the same bone, the same flavor, month after month.
This observation stayed with Cameron. One night, as he was tossing a volleyball in his room, an idea sprang into his mind. Why not make a dog bone that offered different flavors every month? Just like humans, wouldn't dogs also enjoy a variety in their diet?
Cameron set out to make this idea a reality. With some pocket money, he started experimenting with natural and dog-friendly ingredients.
He researched tirelessly, learning everything about what flavors dogs liked, their nutritional needs, and safe food practices. His first flavors were classics: chicken, beef, and bacon. But Cameron didn’t stop there; he wanted to offer something truly unique, so he also developed more exotic flavors like peanut butter and peppermint.
The first tester for these new bones was, of course, Trooper. Cameron will never forget the day he gave Trooper the first flavored bone. Trooper sniffed it curiously, then took a tentative bite. His tail began to wag furiously. He loved it!
After perfecting his recipes and ensuring the quality, Cameron started his own dog bone company, which he aptly named "Boneafide." With the help of a Mother, he started production. His marketing strategy was simple yet effective: offering a subscription service that delivered a new bone flavor every month right at your doorstep.
Cameron’s Boneafide was an instant hit in Palos Verdes. The local dogs were going crazy over the new flavored bones. News spread, and soon enough, orders started coming from neighboring towns and then other states. Boneafide became a sensation, offering dogs the flavor and variety they needed.
In the end, not only did Cameron succeed in making Trooper's life more flavorful, but he also enriched the lives of countless other dogs across the country. His ingenuity and love for his pet led to the creation of a business that combined profit with genuine care for man's best friend. And even as he juggled school, sports, and a successful business, Cameron never forgot to take Trooper for their daily walk. After all, Trooper was the real inspiration behind Boneafide.
